My symptoms were full body rash, blisters in the mouth, fever and pain. It was almost impossible to eat or drink anything. I was dying of liver disease after a medical detox from alcohol, so they put me in a room for observation and 6 or 7 doctors came in and out for a week. I would get up at night and steal snacks and walk around with no supervision. One meal they gave me was tomato soup that burned my mouth and throat due to acidic content. The nurse couldn't understand why. Redding CA, Mercy General. A scum pit of a hospital. Gradually, I got better and asked to be discharged. They never gave me any meds except pain killers. A very bad experience, and I never found out which meds gave me the condition. I nearly died from my airway being partially closed, they didn't seem too concerned about that.

GP's are still missing symptoms. There is a stage condition that can lead on to SJS. This was missed for me for too long, my mouth was covered in ulcers and rashes had formed that looked like blood pooling. It has taken ages but we are now using skin treatments to repair the damage. I am older and my immune system has taken a hit. The irony is that I was switched from Epilim to Lamotrigine in a fell swoop as the Epilim was affecting treatment for post op sepsis. I came home unwell and they did not connect the Lamotrigine It can affect internal organs, I had a big tummy upset within every 12-14 days. We only realised it was the drug after a 25mg increase. I am only maintenance antibiotics for the post op problem (to prevent sepsis). I think this saved my life. You were so lucky you were taken to the hospital. The Lamotrigine boxes now carry major warnings in the US, something immediately visible. How many people are suffering from Drug Hypersensitivity Syndrome, or DRESS, vulnerable to SJS? Doctors and pharmacists must be better informed. This drug is out of favour in the US. Maybe keeping SJS low profile is a pharma policy. Hospitals MUST be seeing it as it is high on their checklist in A&E etc. If it is to be used, it needs monitoring. Full blown SJS is a dreadful condition. It is great to see you going forward. You really were fortunate in how your parents reacted and your medical team. Unsurprisingly PTSD is not uncommon. All the best for the future. I am going to keep sharing info about SJS, it is a very bad diagnosis to miss.

For severe adult ADHD and focus issues it is a lifesaver and a game changer and a mood booster with no side effects. The only problem is in my experience you build up a tolerance to the dosage and that’s it. In my opinion it’s not a smart drug unless you’re already smart, when you suffer with ADHD your entire life and not diagnosed until an adult you are already very intelligent. You just have trouble focusing and completing tasks, modafinil is amazing, it is excellent for long work days and fatigue and doing mental gymnastics. I find it even better than stimulants for ADHD, people who do not have ADHD do not understand that stimulants calm ADHD patients works better at doing that thank you

It's all fun, and games, until the hypermobility gives way to stiffness, and pain. POTS, and small fiber polyneuropathy are quite the picnic. Being gaslit by doctors for 47 years, is peachy as well. Fatigue, is just the icing on the cake. Death, can't find me soon enough.

I bet there is direct link between people with hypermobile body with people with adhd and anxiety - if to look through the perspective of gatherers or hunters vs agriculturers - we can see first may have need to be designed like that to be more attentive to detect animals, changes of weather , enemies in the night

Yes makes sense, EDS and other inflammatory conditions, long term Covid ( sensory changes) PSA, CF/ME affecting the micro glial cells that can act up causing pain also. I have hyper mobility and beta blockers unfortunately haven’t stopped the cascade of events physically in me therefore I have had to search for holistic research to see if there are studies on people and not just rodents because being on the edge with severe pain driving my BP and meds not being able to stop it is a run away train and anyways I have found some very helpful studies from Dr. Jarred Younger and students that don’t typically cause medicinal side effects and the study on PTSD is very interesting. The less one has to create a possibility of causing a risk the better if it can be readily available, cost effective and even those with no insurance perhaps might respond without having a Stellite ganglion block. CRPS and environment change or stress, given meds that have made some sensitive already can affect results. Years ago I was put on a beta blocker to see if it would help with my anxiety and pain 1998 University of Wisconsin, Madison USA and like I mentioned my different response was always there but I encourage anyone to take a look at Dr Younger’s research that has been made available, he likes to discuss what he can openly also on UA-cam and professional medical/ science and anyone is able to follow with the program. Thank you! For those looking for updated information on why inflammatory conditions affect us and if there are simple interventions that we can do without being sold something then I encourage others to click on his channel. As someone trained in the medical field I can say that it is worth it. Thank you 😊

Anxiety could be a response to hyper mobility speaking of the reflexes, proprioception( try to walk on the unstable, painful joints day after day; think about your future and see no light, etc) Each case needs a thorough investigation and an individual approach. For people with EDS anxiety, most likely, would be a primary priority dysfunction ( a mother's pregnancy, the stress level during that period of time). One thing is for sure- the psychosomatic factors must be considered during a patient's health evaluation.
